![]() In Merv, the two branches rejoined and headed westward to Qumis, Seleucia, and finally Dura-Europos. The southern branch connects Balch to Merv, while the northern branch is from Kashgar to Koland, Samarkand, and reaches Merv. It started from the ancient capital of China - Chang'an (Xi'an), and later it was moved further east to Luoyang. Then, the route stretches through the Chinese province of Gansu along the Hexi corridor and split into three further routes, two of them split at Dunhuang bypassing the Taklamakan Desert to rejoin at Kashgar, and the other going north of the Tianshan mountains through Anxi, Turpan, Yining and met the Dunhuang-Kashagar routes at Koland. Silk Road Map (Click to Enlarge) Northern Route The maritime silk road was formed as early as the Qin and Han Dynasties, developed in the Three Kingdoms and Sui dynasties, and became more and more prosperous in the Tang and Song dynasties. The route of the maritime silk road is centered on the South China Sea. In a narrow sense, the silk road often refers to the land silk road. Generally speaking, the silk road includes two, one is the Land Silk Road and the other is the Maritime Silk Road. While the northern route moved through Turpan, Talgar, and Almaty, turned northwest past the Aral Sea and north of the Caspian Sea, then and on to the Black Sea and got to Constantinople. The southern and middle route rejoined at Kashgar, then passed through Pamir Plateau and north of Aral Sea, reached Baghdad and Damascus, moved northwestwards, finally ended at Constantinople. It moved westwards, via the Hexi Corridor(Wuwei, Zhangye, Dunhuang, Jiuquan.), and divided into northern, middle, and southern routes. Stretching about 4,000 miles (6,437 kilometers), the Silk Road started from the ancient great China capital city Chang’an(today’s Xi’an), and later from Luoyang during the East Han Dynasty. Now the silk road has become a world heritage site. It is the formation of this channel that made an important contribution to the earliest international trades. ![]() It is an important commercial and trade channel connecting the hinterland of China and, Asian and European countries. However, from Dunhuang, it is divided into two routes: the two routes start from Dunhuang, bypassing the Taklamakan Desert and Lop Nur northward and southward, finally rejoin at the terminal Rome. The route of the land silk road takes Chang'an (now called Xi’an) in the Western Han Dynasty as the starting point of the whole route, passes through the Hexi Corridor, and then reaches the famous Dunhuang. ![]() Caucasians are mostly affected with Alexandria’s Genesis, however, with interracial marriages happening around the world it could be anyone anywhere on this planet since multiple genes are now being distributed. Alexandria’s Genesis is mostly found in women since the mutation among females has been reported more than males. Such skin types are prone to heavy sunburns, sun damage and tanning too. In other medical research, it has been identified that there are various symptoms that are associated with Alexandria’s Genesis- white pale shimmery skin for example. What Is Alexandria’s Genesis?Īlexandria’s Genesis, also known as purple eyes or violet eyes is a well known genetic mutation as told by the medical experts. This is why there are many speculations about Alexandria’s Genesis, and most want to know if this is a fact or fiction. Even the scientific community is aware of Alexandria’s Genesis, but they don’t have a proof of whether people with purple eyes exist or not. The IDE simplifies the development of web, enterprise, desktop, and mobile applications that use the Java and HTML5 platforms. ![]() I just checked and Gson indeed uses unsafe to create an instance by-passing the constructor, while Jackson does the right thing (also Jackson uses setter instead of circumventing access and setting fields directly). NetBeans IDE is a free and open source integrated development environment for application development on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Solaris operating systems. I would argue that this behaviour would be surprising and will introduce bugs, because developers usually expect that constructors are running. The Sonos Move wireless speaker comes with a charging base, a fabric pouch and a quick start guide. It was an immediate hit with the world press, who praised its easy installation, design, reliability and sound quality. After extensive research on antenna placement and the development of a user-friendly system, Sonos revealed its very first product in January 2005: the Sonos ZP100, a connected amplifier capable of delivering up to 2 x 50 watts in Class D. At the time, this type of network was mostly used for military purposes and had never been applied in the home, let alone used to provide a solution for music playback. John MacFarlane therefore turned to a team of engineers that found a solution in 2003 through mesh networking. A completely new system had to be designed to transfer sound instantly and wirelessly to several speakers without the user noticing any synchronization errors. However, in 2002 very few technologies existed that would allow the brand to achieve this goal. His goal: to allow music lovers to easily stream any song wirelessly in their home. Sonos Move: the brandĪ pioneer of multi-room audio, Sonos was founded in 2002 by John MacFarlane. Qobuz 24-bit Hi-Res streaming is available on Sonos in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and the United States. The Sonos Move speaker operates via Bluetooth or WiFi, using either mains power or its integrated battery. Qobuz has over seventy million tracks and is adding more in full Hi-Res quality every day. This expanded experience on Sonos will make premium Qobuz streaming capabilities accessible to a wider audience of music lovers. Qobuz has always catered to the audiophile and the audio-curious market, with its expert curation, exclusive editorial content, liner notes, download store, and world-class sound quality. This new integration builds on Qobuz’s continued expansion of hardware partnerships, including the addition of Hi-Res compatible hardware on the Android platform several years ago. And now, it is continuing to expand access to higher- resolution streaming on Sonos by introducing 24-bit streaming, compatible with most products on the Sonos S2 platform, which supports up to 48 kHz/24-bit audio resolution. In 2013, Qobuz became the first music service to offer 16-bit FLAC streaming on Sonos. “Qobuz has been at the forefront of high resolution music streaming, and we look forward to customers enjoying their music with the clarity, depth, and room-filling sound of Sonos.” “Our open platform enables partners to bring the best of their experiences to the Sonos system and our mutual customers,” said Ryan Richards, Director of Product Marketing at Sonos. Now, on Sonos devices, we’re making it easy for millions more people to experience the improvement Hi-Res audio can make.” Qobuz USA Managing Director Dan Mackta said of the partnership, “Qobuz has always strived to make the highest quality audio accessible, as people become more interested in better sound. Available with the Sonos S2 app, this new integration is one of Qobuz’s broadest expansions of Hi-Res streaming support to date. ![]() ![]() Qobuz customers will be able to listen to studio-quality music on their Sonos speakers, preserving all of the details and color of original recordings, with the ease of simply pressing play in the Sonos app. MaQobuz, the music lovers’ Hi-Res streaming and download provider, is now the first music service to deliver 24-bit Hi-Res audio streaming on Sonos. Qobuz Becomes First Hi-Res, 24-bit Streaming Service Available on Sonos With multiple Sonos devices being common in the home setting, the Qobuz’ Family Plan Subscription now makes more sense than ever before. I can’t imagine what those numbers are now, just based on year-over-year earnings reports for the company. Back in 2018 during the filing of their IPO, it was reported that Sonos had over 19 million registered devices in close to 7 million homes world-wide. This marks the first ever availability of hi-res music streaming on the Sonos platform. The world becomes a bigger place today with millions of new, and existing, Sonos users now having access to Qobuz Hi-Res Streaming with just plug and play, no additional equipment needed. Wear old sneakers or water shoes, something that will stay on your feet (no Crocs or flipflops), but choose something you don't mind getting muddy or wet. Anything you wear has to stay on, they can't risk items going into the river and getting caught in a propeller. There's a bowl for everyone's car keys at the 'Main Lodge' (for lack of another word). You really can't bring anything with you on the boat that's not attached to you, there's no place to put it, and keep in mind anything and everything on the boat is going to get wet. Even if you don't go mudsliding, the water is brown and muddy, you're going to get wet and you're going to get dirty. Mudsliding is REALLY fun, not only for kids, but take into account that the slippery brown clay will stain, so don't wear anything you care about. They park the boat on a muddy riverbank, you take off your shoes and life jacket and climb up the bank, slide down the squishy warm mud into the river. For DS, one of the highlights of the second half of the tour is the mudsliding. We saw about seven eagles, several eagle nests, caught some fabulous waves, went for a swim in the middle of the river. This time around we had Garret piloting our boat, a very friendly new guide and he was great. We're up for, "The Ultimate," but it all depends on the date you're going and the tide on that date, it's just never worked out to hit that one yet. We've only done the 90 minute version of 'White Water Tango' which is the middle of the road as far as tide height/waves go. You can do a three hour tour or just do half and get 90 minutes for a slightly discounted price. DS is a great swimmer, but you don't have to be a swimmer to enjoy this, my DH doesn't swim at all and still has a great time. Our son is eight now, we went for the first time when he was six and we were hooked. This was the third year we've gone tidal bore rafting with Shubenacadie Adventure Tours, and for the third year we've had an AWESOME time! Holding on to the rope in the boat to avoid being thrown about is a bit strenuous and your muscles will ache for days after (3 of us are in our late 50's and are not ready for a marathon). There is a steep slope down to the water and back up at the end. This activity does require some physical ability. At no time did I feel uncomfortable (except for the beating my butt took sitting on the boat while it pounded over the waves). How safe is it? I don't swim and one person in our party has an arm amputation. Peter worked us up in stages to the big stuff and since most of us ended up on the bottom of the boat at different points it was demonstrated that the river has an amazing amount of power. Then it was all aboard for the wave running. We started off upriver (most start downriver) which gave us an hour to play in the out going current at a sandbar and feel the power of the current by drifting in it with the PFD's on, then experience the change when the bore came in. He could tell from the demeanor of our group of 4 and the family of 3 we shared the boat with that we were open to anything the river and the guide could throw at us. Our guide Peter is very knowledgeable about the river and was able to judge the waves and currents for maximum effect. Highly recommended!Ī friend had intended to go with a different company and booked us into this tour by mistake. Loved this unique trip- only place in the world you can go tidal bore rafting- and a highlight of our trip to the Maritimes. They could definitely earn morw money this way and create a momento! The only issue was that the power went off, so no showers were available. The trip was great value, and there were hot dogs included afterwards.ġ. The guide was really knowledgeable about the tides and was great at getting us wet.Ĥ. Good waves and better than several other whiewater experiences.ģ. I wemt on an orange or intermediate day so mid range and really enjoyed it. Then you rode the rapids and saw the tidal bore come in. You could go mudsliding first, and then you stood on the river bed before the tide came in. The directions were perfect and the equipment was very good.Ģ. The staff were friendly and accommodating and managed to squeeze me in the day before. The details had clearly been set and then reset by Riva and his team. The name Aquarama evokes both the panoramic view that can be seen in the chrome contours of its windscreen and the new vogue for giant screens (Cinerama). The transom was sloped to allow easy access to the water. Wicker drink trays were built into the backs of the forward seats, and a beautiful sunpad was designed over the engines. I know it’s over-hyping it, but I have to say my day aboard Gala-probably because I knew so much about Aquarama’s history-was one of my most memorable days on the water after 30 years of testing boats.īeyond the beautiful, varnished wood and chrome work, features like the bow anchor locker, with a clever self-retrieving anchor system, and the soft canvas top had a huge spring inside to make it easy to raise and lower the canvas when it started to rain. I had the helm a few hours but let the captain dock it, as the mahogany finish was flawless and I didn’t want to leave any scratches. There was a sense of grace and performance, especially considering its age, that I hadn’t felt before. When the hull slapped it was a much softer sound than fiberglass. It was such an enjoyable boat to drive, turning sharp with the twin engines. ![]() The hull had been designed for ocean running-after Riva had been chided by a longtime friend for building “lake boats.”Ĭarlo Riva’s creation is celebrating the 60th anniversary of its launch in August. And the side throttles were also modeled on a car to make it more intuitive for new owners who were not necessarily boaters. The oversized steering wheel felt perfect for a boat that would’ve been compared to a Cadillac or Lincoln in its day. The hand-built wooden hulls were built on a production line like cars for quality control and timely delivery.Īt the dock, Gala had a stately presence, with pinstripes on the light-colored mahogany foredeck, a beautiful reddish-tinted hull, gleaming chrome, and a wraparound automotive-style windshield which was radical for the day. Riva had decided early on to model the Aquarama after the finest luxury cars with throaty American marine engines ( Gala had twin 320 hp Rivas, which were modified Crusaders). Unlike most boats, the helm is on the left side. Owned by Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi, Gala was a stunning wooden boat, with ivory-colored upholstery, a Calax-style steering wheel inspired by a 1958 Chrysler 300, and side throttles. The boat was meticulously crafted from wood. |
